Getting a not-so-alpine-ish start this morning

I woke to the sound of the alarm.  I laid there.  I didn’t want to move, but I had to shut the alarm off for my husband’s sake.  So I did.  I unhooked my BiPAP machine hose, stripped off my BiPAP mask, and got up to take my morning meds.  I’m not feeling the alpine start this morning.  Then I remembered that some punk kid had parked in my spot on the street out in front of my house last night and I wondered if he had moved.  I assumed he had, so I put on my flip-flops, donned my blue Duluth Trading Co. shirt jacket, grabbed my keys and headed out the door.  Sure enough, my spot was open.  I had already decided that I wasn’t going climbing at 0600 hrs this morning, so I wanted my spot back before all the good little Catholic school kids (that cuss like sailors and litter all over the neighborhood, to include throwing their trash in the bed of my truck) parked in my space again. After moving my truck back into my usual parking space, I felt a little better.  Until I had to walk down the steps to my basement apartment, that is.  Ouch, ouch, ouch, ouch, ouch, ouch, ouch, ouch, ouch is how that went.  Nope.  The arthritis hasn’t gone anywhere.  It’s still right here with me, not to worry.  I forgot to take my Extra-Strength Tylenol…better do that.

Okay, I’m back.  So what am I going to do about this arthritis business???  I’m not going to stop climbing, so that’s out of the question.  I can’t really be on the meloxicam due to the swelling it brings on.  Inflammation, be gone!!!  Nope, that didn’t work…  I’m going to message my doctor today, I think, and get his take on it.  His reply last time was, “Well, the meloxicam works, doesn’t it?”  I had to say yes.  “Then there you go.”  I don’t think my doctor fully understands what’s at stake here, namely, my mental and physical health (more mental than anything), all-encompassed in climbing.  I’m trying to have a quality of life, here.  He’s a great doctor, though, and I think if I explain it to him, he’ll understand.  The question is, can he do anything about it???  Updates pending…
