“This is what it’s all about.” That was my thought halfway up an onsight of an exposed arête problem when I found myself over gripping and sweating. I decided to literally blow out the tension. Breathing deep and hard, I onsight Ed the problem and knew I had been right—if I hadn’t tackled the vertical today, I may have never done it again out of a feeling of defeat. I’m going through some medication changes right now that are really messing with my confidence in my ability to handle things. As I sized up the problem this morning, a song was playing that repeated the words “step by step”, and I immediately knew I had to onsight and complete that vertical problem. It was a head trip with myself, but it felt so good to have accomplished it. Do things that challenge you—DO IT! That’s what it’s all about.
Content Rating PG, for the most part
I try to keep the content of my posts in the PG range (meaning that maybe your 13-year-old should not read it... Just kidding!) - you know, something I could get away with tastefully in the town square without getting lynched, tarred-and-feathered, or hung (and something my mother would NOT wash my mouth out with soap for). As far as what age you have to be to understand some of the subtleties of my humor in writing and/or speaking, well... That may vary. A lot.
Amazing! So glad you onsighted it
