Well, I got my alpine start at 0600 hrs at SteepWorld Climbing and Fitness. I was breaking in my La Sportiva Skwama climbing shoes. There isn’t a lot of breaking-in to them. It’s more like breaking your foot into them, haha! I love those Skwamas, though! A review on the Skwamas will be coming down the pipe soon, not to worry!
Today is the last day of the MyClimb Fall Project Challenge 2017. I feel like I should go back to the climbing gym and throw myself at the walls again this afternoon. I didn’t achieve any of my goals for the Challenge. That’s not to say that I didn’t achieve anything, though! Had conditions been optimal or even normal, I truly believe that I could have achieved at least half of my goals. There were a lot of factors working against me this last month and a half. That’s not an excuse, just a fact. I’m not upset about it because I’m still working toward those goals even though they are no longer part of a Challenge of any sort other than my own. The important part of any goal or challenge is that you keep the enjoyment of climbing intact. If you’re not enjoying climbing, something’s seriously wrong and needs to change!!! Remember, it’s the journey that’s important!!! I write this last bit in a coffee shop with “Hallelujah” by Leonard Cohen playing in the background…
