Eighty percenty ethanol alcohol mixed with the finest magnesium carbonate on earth! Can it get any better than that? I don’t think so, but that’s just me. My Friction Labs Hygenic Secret Stuff (liquid chalk) arrived over the weekend and I am incredibly excited! Pandemic, I fear you less! With 80% ethanol alcohol in it, this Stuff is hand sanitizer and mega-chalk-base all in one. I might actually convince myself to go climbing again, now. What a great idea! I have been waiting for this shipment for quite some time, but it has been worth it, now that I finally have it on my hands. It takes about 45 seconds to dry and covers like a dream, just like the lower-alcohol counterpart does. I like the idea of sanitization, though. In this crazy world of COVID-19 and the SARS-CoV-2 threat, wearing a mask is enough of a hassle. Keeping my hands clean is as easy as applying more liquid chalk! Can you tell that I’m excited? I hope so, because I am so stoked that I don’t even have the words.
Speaking of words, I know that the last few months have incorporated a lot of non-climbing stuff into this blog. If you are one who takes the purist road to blogs, I apologize. I just have had other things to write about, and haven’t been climbing (so I couldn’t write about that much), and had no other outlet for the writing portion of my life.
Never fear, though, because I have another great announcement to make. If you go to http://www.climbersparallax.com, you can find my new blog that will be my outlet for all things “writing”, as in my speculative and dystopian fiction, etc. I set it up this morning and now have a place to showcase my writing apart from my climbing-related material. So, if you liked reading about my writing life, go to http://www.climbersparallax.com and you can find that there. If you like reading about my climbing adventures, advice, and gear reviews and news, keep your attention here. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with reading BOTH (hint, hint)! I will try to keep up with writing for both, but it all depends on what I am able to do, or not. Check it out, though, and at least let me know what you think of the logo for the new blog! Click the “Like” button if you like the logo! I look forward to seeing how many Likes I get on it.
I hope you are all well in the climbing world. This pandemic surely sucks, and I will be glad when it is less of a threat. I hate climbing with a mask, but if that’s all I have to wear extra for protective gear, then so be it. Got my chalk, got my mask, got my shoes, got my self . . . let’s go!
