I’ve been reading Neil Gaiman’s American Gods (Author’s Preferred Text) for the last few days and it’s a fantastic novel so far! It leaves you asking often, “And then what happened?”, as Neil Gaiman would put it. It’s a page-turner for sure. I’ve been at my mom’s helping watch my nephew the last few days and I apologize for the hiatus resulting on my blog page. I’m a little more than halfway through the book and it just keeps getting better and better. Although it’s a handful (literally), it’s still worth the time to get your mental juices flowing by reading this book. It does have some adult scenes in it, and would definitely be considered an adult read, but that doesn’t detract one bit from the fantastic world that Neil Gaiman leads you through page-by-page! The further I get in the book, the more eager I am to get to the next paragraph, the next page, the next chapter, and ultimately, to find out what happens! Great book. Great author. I highly recommend all of Neil Gaiman’s works if you like a little something disturbing or psychologically twisted to mull over in your mind.
Content Rating PG, for the most part
I try to keep the content of my posts in the PG range (meaning that maybe your 13-year-old should not read it... Just kidding!) - you know, something I could get away with tastefully in the town square without getting lynched, tarred-and-feathered, or hung (and something my mother would NOT wash my mouth out with soap for). As far as what age you have to be to understand some of the subtleties of my humor in writing and/or speaking, well... That may vary. A lot.
