It’s clear to my psychiatrist and me that we need to dial back one of my psychotropic medications, specifically my antipsychotic. My motivation is zilch and my restlessness is 1000%! We are going to try to get to a lower steady state more quickly by having me take a lower dose every other day, and then skip the weekend entirely. This should give us an idea of how much I need based on my own monitoring of my side effects and symptoms. It all sounds good, but it’s a bit scary, too. Any time we mess with psychotropics, especially antipsychotics, strange things can happen – more like strange feelings. I trust the Doc, though, and he’s doing what he thinks will be most advantageous in the least amount of time in order to get me back on the rails. Hopefully I don’t end up in the hospital. I don’t think I will, but there’s always that possibility when we’re dealing with medication changes. Oh, well. It’ll all work out in the end. I just want to get them straightened out so that I can get back to climbing and writing and taking photos! I need my life back!
Content Rating PG, for the most part
I try to keep the content of my posts in the PG range (meaning that maybe your 13-year-old should not read it... Just kidding!) - you know, something I could get away with tastefully in the town square without getting lynched, tarred-and-feathered, or hung (and something my mother would NOT wash my mouth out with soap for). As far as what age you have to be to understand some of the subtleties of my humor in writing and/or speaking, well... That may vary. A lot.
