Lou and Leon and I are meeting for breakfast in a little bit and then we’re headed for Butte, Montana, where Lou and Leon are going to do some traditional climbing. I’ve never done any traditional climbing before, so this will be really neat for me to experience. My knee is feeling better and I should be able to do a little bit of climbing today if the approaches to the crags aren’t too harsh on my old bones. I look forward to taking my GoPro with me and getting some footage of trad climbing with Lou and Leon. This is going to be great! Just the time spent with these two enriches my life to extents not possible any other way, and I wouldn’t have it any other way! I love Lou and Leon. They are two of my very best climbing buddies, friends, and mentors. They are family. I can be myself around them, and they around me. It’s genuine fun to be with these guys! What I love the most about it is that we can have some of the wildest discussions – things that would cause permanent rifts in the friendships of others – without even raising our voices or contending with each other. We have that kind of chemistry. I find myself inspired instead of irritated over these types of conversations with Lou and Leon, and we can all express our opinions and beliefs freely without fear of judgment or reprisal. All that is to say that I’m really looking forward to the roadtrip to Butte and back as much as I look forward to the climbing! This is going to be great!
Content Rating PG, for the most part
I try to keep the content of my posts in the PG range (meaning that maybe your 13-year-old should not read it... Just kidding!) - you know, something I could get away with tastefully in the town square without getting lynched, tarred-and-feathered, or hung (and something my mother would NOT wash my mouth out with soap for). As far as what age you have to be to understand some of the subtleties of my humor in writing and/or speaking, well... That may vary. A lot.
