Today, I went climbing. I actually went to the climbing gym twice, once before my video chat with the MyClimb App CEO and President and then again after visiting with him. We had a pleasant conversation. I like Bill a lot. Hopefully we get to go climbing together one of these days! He’s planning a trip to Bulgaria in June for a MyClimb-sponsored event, so that ought to be fun! I can’t wait for him to post some photos of that!
Climbing today was fun. I got to see McKenzie, Chad, Dian, Emily, and Lucas. Heath, one of the owners, said they had a hat for me when I was done climbing. A hat? I was thinking maybe the “dunce hat” that we had in grade school, but it turned out they let me take my pick from among several extremely cool color schemes. I’ll leave the details for a later post. I got such a cool hat! I love it! It’s my new favorite hat! Like I said, I’ll have to leave the details for a later post, but not much later, so stay tuned for the pending details… I’ll post a photo of it with that later post.
Boulderland is totally cool right now! I love the “hold splash” that they did up there – no tags, no official problems, just make-it-up-as-you-go fun. No pressure, great traversing, and whatever difficulty level you want to create with your own choice of holds! Who could ask for more?! I love it!
I climbed in my Scarpa Instincts today and am still loving them. I’ll probably end up doing a full shoe review on them, so I won’t go into everything right now, but suffice it to say that they rank among my favorite shoes right now. We’ll see how long they last and how they wear as they break in more. That will be the test. I’ll be interested to see how they perform outdoors!
That is, if it ever stops raining. It’s supposed to rain all week and into next week. Tomorrow is the Founding Members Party at the climbing gym and it looks like it’s going to be a cold, wet barbeque, but the show must go on. I talked to the grillmaster today and he said he’d be grilling tomorrow evening, so it’s on! That should be a fun time for all. I’m looking forward to it! Updates pending…
