I just finished an excellent Thanksgiving meal prepared by my brother and sister-in-law that live above us. It was a great time with food, family, and fun conversation. My dad even made it in for Thanksgiving dinner! That was very special. Squiggle Bug slept through the entire thing, haha! He was tired out, as he should’ve been from running around all morning! I could hear him all morning long upstairs – thump, thump, thump, here and thump, thump, thump there, and then thump, thump, thump somewhere else. He was so busy! What a big deal for him! We watched a dog show on television intermittently while we ate, and then I excused myself to get my medication. It was time for it, and I was risking eating another piece of pie if I stayed any longer. I have lost 28 lbs and I don’t want any of that weight back! That’s two stone! I can fit comfortably into smaller clothing today, and I plan on being able to do so tomorrow as well. I’m one who has to remove themselves from the presence of temptation or otherwise partake. And when it comes to Mom’s homemade apple pie? That’s more than temptation proper!
So what does Thanksgiving mean to you this year? Does it mean being alone and lonely? If it does, please think of me as your friend, because I am. I would love to celebrate what your thankful for with you, and if I could, I would celebrate it with every single person in the world. So be grateful for something, even if it is only that you are still breathing and have life in you, for that is the most precious gift of all. Happy Thanksgiving!
