November is National Novel Writing Month. My psychiatrist, as treatment because I can’t climb right now, gave me the project of writing a 50,000 word novel with three acts and 60 scenes. Now, remember, I can only type with one hand right now, and that boils down to some serious concentration and 1,667 words per day if I am to get to 50,000 words in 30 days. I am already one day behind. That’s okay, though, because I’ll make it up somehow. We have some rainy days coming. At the end of this exercise, I’ll have a first draft of a novel, a story that I came up with myself, and a whole lot of expertise in typing with one hand! I typed up six scenes and 1,900+ words yesterday.

You can track your words, enter your novel, get into a novel-writing community, donate to their cause (which is getting resources for people to be able to write), and more.
