Well, Lou managed to get a 500-climb MyClimb monthly challenge going for August, haha. I joined it. I also joined the 50-climb, the 100-climb, and the 200-climb challenges on top of that, because if I’m going to attempt 500 climbs in one month, I’m darn well going to get some other challenges filled along the way!!! Lou told me I should join the 500-climb challenge and have a volume month to prepare for the Bozeman Six when he and Leon get here August/September-ish. That made enough sense to me that I decided to take that seriously (I had already joined the challenge, just because it was so great looking), so I went climbing for a second time yesterday and racked up 10 climbs. Mind you, now – attempts do NOT count for the challenge numbers. Only completed climbs count toward the challenge numbers recorded. So you’d better send whatever you’re working on!!! I think it’s fun.
We’ll see how far I get. I needed to climb some more yesterday, anyway, and I feel really good this morning both mentally and physically for having done so. Of course, I’m writing this at 0357 hrs and the gym doesn’t open today (Saturday) until 1000 hrs, but that’s okay. I get my quiet time and I get things done this way. Alpine starts rule!!! Well, sometimes. Until you get tired at about 0700 hrs or 0800 hrs and want to go back to bed… By that time, it’s too late to go back to bed, but I digress. Alpine starts do something for your discipline. I go to bed early, too. You’d think I was a farmer, but I’m not! I’ve got the gene, though, haha!
It’s at this point that I’d like to make sure you know that, if you have a smartphone or tablet and want to be part of an awesome community of climbers worldwide, you can get the MyClimb app and start anytime. Starting at the beginning of the month like this would be easy because all the challenges for the month have just started and everything like that. The MyClimb app works on both Android and iOS systems, so whichever device type you have, it should work just fine. I’ve had it on both, and it works great! I would encourage you to get the MyClimb app. If you don’t like it, you can always delete it. It’s free, too! The best part!!! I’m not trying to advertise, but I am trying to tell you about a really good motivator in my life. That’s how I’ve met some of my best climbing buddies!!! Think on it…
