Let the fireworks fly! It’s the 4th of July!!! My husband had his surgery yesterday. It went well. He didn’t tell me it was going to take two and a half hours, though, so I began to get worried after about two hours. I’ll be helping to look after him for Independence Day, since he’s on some heavy duty pain medication. I’m glad he got his surgery done, though! It’s going to make life so much better for him!!!
As for me, on my 4th of July, I just took my first dose of my new medication that I’ll be switching over to, which will hopefully not cause me to gain more weight, but instead to lose some. I hope I lose weight on this new medication!!! I hope it works as well as what I’m already on, too. That’s the catch – a medication that doesn’t have the weight gain effect on me that still does the job as far as symptom management goes!!! I really hope this works. REALLY!!!
With my PTSD, I dread fireworks because it reminds me of gunfire when they go off, but so far, we haven’t had any in our neighborhood this year…yet. They’re illegal within the city limits, but that doesn’t stop anyone from lighting them off. So far, so good. Tonight will be a challenge, but I get through it every year, so it shouldn’t be something that I get hospitalized over or anything!
Miracle of miracles, the climbing gym’s open today! I think I’ll take full advantage of that, too!!! I haven’t climbed in a week and a half, and it’s killing me!!! Today, it’s supposed to be 80º F outside, tomorrow’s supposed to be in the 90’s, and on Friday, it’s supposed to be 100º F! Our weather has been strange this year, and it looks like it’s decided to go full-on heat-wave on us all of a sudden!!! It’s going to be in the 90’s for the foreseeable future.
I might take advantage of the weather today, before it gets hot and before the climbing gym opens, to ride my bike!!! It desperately needs to be ridden so that I can take it to the REI shop in Bozeman for my free warranty tune-up. The tune-up’s not going to do much good if I don’t ride my bike! I want to get outside in the nice, cool morning air and get some riding in before all the people get out and about in their vehicles. That’s the key. You have to get out there before the traffic does! I haven’t checked outside yet this morning. There was a storm last night. Hopefully it didn’t wreak too much havoc with its strong winds! I can go survey the area on my bike to find out!
So, whatever you’re doing today, Happy 4th of July!!! I hope you stay safe and have a great holiday! I’ll catch you later!
