The Yellow Dihedral in Boulderland at SteepWorld Climbing and Fitness currently shall be called “Big Bird”. I hereby proclaim it! Of course, no one else will know what I’m talking about, but I have fun with it! Here’s a video of me sending it!
My friend McKenzie noticed that, when I hit the record button, I immediately and with complete determination walked over to the wall, got on the wall, sent the problem, and down-climbed. “Did you see that? Complete determination. I want you to climb like that all the time. Like you’re being recorded. Then you’re like, ‘Oh, I’m being recorded, so I have to do good or try hard…'” What a great breakthrough! I’m going to start recording myself all the time to improve my performance because I don’t hesitate when I’m being recorded, and hesitation has been something I struggle with at times. After I make the behavior change through modification, then I won’t have to record myself as often or at all, eventually. McKenzie patted me on the back and said, “Big steps!” I’m so glad I have friends and mentors like McKenzie!!! She’s such an awesome person!!!
