Having a hard time adjusting…

Things will never be the same.  Not even the way they were just a moment ago when I wrote that sentence.  They’re not the same now, either.  See how things change?  And these are small changes in our lives – the passing of time.  In the last few months, I’ve watched my climbing routine be systematically dismantled, an old and familiar bouldering gym close, a new and bustling climbing gym open its doors, my route setting hopes and dreams hung precariously in the balance by personality conflicts, winter weather set in, and my failure to reach any of my goals during the MyClimb Fall Project Challenge 2017.  These are just a few of the many things that the passage of time has brought since mid-October 2017.

It is now mid-December 2017.  Here’s what I want to see happen:  I want my daily climbing routine back.  I want my route setting hopes, dreams, and opportunities to continue regardless of who does or does not like who.  I want to reach some intense goals during the MyClimb Celestial Winter Challenge 2018, the goals for which need to be submitted by or on the 21st of this month.  I want to feel happy again.  I want to climb with my friends, get certified to lead climb at the new gym, and continue to bring in new members for the new climbing gym.  I want to continue to have a good working relationship with all three of the owners there.  I want to get to a point where I can get USAC Level 1 certified as a Route Setter.  I want to climb at least 5.11a by the end of 2018, and possibly boulder V5 by the end of this coming year, too.  I want to learn to set routes on ropes, to be given the freedom to set the high-quality bouldering problems that everyone loved at the old gym, and to be respected equally as a member of the team at the new gym.  I want to get strong and lean this winter, and get down to 150 lbs by the end of 2018.  I want to climb outdoors with my climbing buddies and learn to trad climb with my friend Lou this coming spring.  I want to feel the peace of knowing I’m back on the life-saving and experience-enriching path of climbing.  That’s all I want to do.  CLIMB.  FOCUS ON THE NEXT HOLD AND CLIMB!

What do you think?  Should I submit this list to Santa? 😁😎😜
