Choose your poison

I was introduced to the world of energy drinks the other day.  Actually, I introduced myself.  AJ and I both like soda, but AJ also likes energy drinks.  As we drove back to Billings from our climbing session in Bozeman on Tuesday, AJ compared the nutrition and ingredients labels of a Mountain Dew and a Rockstar.  We actually found that energy drinks are better for you than soda!!!  At our rest stop in Big Timber, I decided to do an experiment…  I bought a fruit punch Rockstar.  Wow!  That flavor sensation made my mouth water and kept me going well beyond the point that any soda would have left me lying on my face asleep and drooling.  I’m not saying that either one is particularly good for you.  Don’t get me wrong.  Both have their health risks if consumed in large quantities over a long period of time.  If you’re looking for something to wake you up for a while, forget soda and go for an energy drink!  You’ll get some B vitamins along with it, and skip the high fructose corn syrup, too.  Make sure you want the jitters, though!  If you have a heart problem, I wouldn’t recommend the energy drink!
